- Marie Porter Griffin Provo, Utah Marie Porter Griffin, 85 of Provo, Utah, passed away at her home, March 26, 2005. She was born July 28, 1919 to Roland and Mina Haws Porter in Escalante, Utah. She married Kenneth Jared Griffin in Las Vegas, Nevada and were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. She was an extraordinary woman with a passion for life and her family. Many people benefitted from her crocheted blankets, beaded icicles and many other handiwork items. In the last 4 years, she made over 160 leper bandages for the LDS Humanitarian Services. She was loved greatly by everyone and will be missed by all those that knew her. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Jared Griffin; children, DeLoa Fillmore; Jerald (VaLynne) Thompson; Trudy (David) Dickerson; Marlene (Kevin) Richman; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma Boulter; Maxine (Floyd) Horrocks; and Yoland (Dave) McInelly; brothers, Vergean (Carolyn) Porter; Bobby (Sandra) Porter; sister-in-laws, Janet and LeNor Porter . She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Merrial and Haws Porter. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the Provo North Park LDS Stake Center, 1066 West 200 North in Provo. A viewing will be held at the Stake Center on Wednesday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Escalante Cemetery.
